The Nerd and the Artist: Creativity Meets Entrepreneurship
I have the brain of a nerd and the heart of an artist.
A few weeks ago, my girlfriends and I went to see the musical Once. It was absolutely phenomenal. We couldn't stop talking about it for hours after the curtain fell.

In the days that followed, I couldn’t help but reflect on how deeply the arts influence my life as an entrepreneur.
I have a highly analytical mind. I started my career as a programmer and engineer. I still code. I love diving into numbers, forecasting, and business strategy.
In short: I am still very much a nerd.
But I am also a lifelong fan of the arts: theatre, musicals, and writing, to name a few. Over time, I’ve learned to build my career right at the intersection of both worlds.
Here is how that duality shows up in my work:
1. Public Speaking & Writing: I don't just deliver business talks; I treat them as performances. I bring creative storytelling, suspense, and humor, including my terrible dad jokes, to the stage. It completely changes the energy of a room, and the audience reviews constantly back that up.
The same applies to my writing. (Fun fact: one of my top-performing LinkedIn posts was written entirely in a Bridgerton tone!)
2. Creative Problem-Solving: Business is both art and science. It’s margins and unit economics, but it's also branding and narrative. Leaning into my artistic side allows for creative, out-of-the-box problem-solving when navigating complex operational challenges.
Embracing both sides of my brain has had a drastic, positive impact on how I build, advise, and lead.
Don't leave your creative passions at the door when you clock into work. Integrate them.
How do you bring your own creative passions into your professional life?
