The Inventory Nightmare That Nearly Broke My Product Brand

January 2023. My home office. 11:00 PM.

The holiday rush was over. Everyone else was recovering from Christmas. And I was staring at my warehouse software watching a number that would not stop haunting me.

Thousands of units of my product. Sitting in a warehouse. Going nowhere.

I had miscalculated. Overordered. Storage fees were ticking up every single day.

I was completely embarrassed…

I've shared pieces of this story in writing before, but I wanted to share the spoken version.

I recently re-recorded a condensed version of a one-hour business talk I gave on this exact inventory nightmare. I originally presented it at a founder event and then at my speaking club, but since the original video quality wasn't ideal, I wanted to film a clean version to share the story.
