Why the Busiest People Are Often the Fastest to Reply
“He’ll never reply.”
I almost didn’t press send.
He’s one of the most popular, highly sought-after speaking coaches in the industry. His calendar is perpetually full.
Last week, I cold emailed him anyway.
He responded in minutes.
I’ve cold emailed hundreds, if not thousands, of people over the course of my career.
And I’ve noticed the same pattern over and over again:
The most successful, extraordinarily busy people are often the fastest to respond.
Maybe it’s not despite their success.
Maybe it’s because of it.
They’ve built the discipline to respond, decide, delegate, and keep things moving, even when their calendars are packed.
So now, when I catch myself thinking, “They’re too busy to reply,” I send the email anyway.
Sometimes the people you assume are least likely to respond are the ones who surprise you.
Have you noticed this pattern in your own network?
